I have always collected 54mm traditional Toy Soldiers… but you can not denie those smaller figures are charming too!
Those are from Graham Hilditch.

You must be tired of my wanderings, but that surely completes the big cabinet.
Now, if only Andrew Stevens admits orders in September I would be sorely tempted in adding three or four figures to the other cabinet…

Back from Holidays… LOL
I do not know why they call them holidays at all… but well I am a bit conservative so let’s go away with it!
Hope diplomatic relations with Andrew can be restored…

His fascination with the Raj is quite infectious!

I found this pic on Facebook some weeks ago… even if you think this is not here not there… well… I love it!… it is minimalist but to the point somehow… Enjoy.
As an addendum the eagle-eyed among you would have noticed the lack of head on the figure of the Bass Drummer Guardsman… I know, you know and he (or she) probably knows that a simple order to (for example) DORSET SOLDIERS (by now IMPERIAL MINIATURES I guess) will supply the missing head (You can even buy painted and plug in with a bit of glue…)… BUT… it would not be VINTAGE then… LOL… really… in this hobby you need all sorts and ALL approaches are CORRECT! Just to clarify the point.
Ditto also arms missing… ditto… ditto.

Nothing like ceremonial uniforms of the late XIXth Century I guess…
BTW I forgot to mention it is the second day of Gettysburg… and Chamberlain was a great Regimental commander… but I do not think you could have outflanked the boys in blue… (my opinion).

Do not know the maker but it is in Facebook in the www.mytoysoldiersandme.com group… wonderful set piece and ambiance.
“Oriental” depends a lot on where you live of course! (It is Oriental for me) Enjoy!

Unusual model full of charm. Kingcast Royal Engineers I believe. Maybe in the limits of my period of addiction to Toy Soldiers… Excellent collection!
Now for those interested I must inform that the moulds have been bought by REPLICA (Andrew Stevens) and he says they would be available again at the end of the year 2022. Cheers!

Incidentally the RCMP on the HEAD PICTURE represents police officer’s NOT soldiers (as it has been said to me millions of times)… but the first ever figure I got was a “mountie”… and that’s that!
