Directly from my Vault (as captured in Facebook)… There are Collectors that keep their figures in the original boxes without even once sort them from the rubber ties… to each its own way of collecting and enjoying the hobby!
It certainly it is not mine.
Enjoy!

It seems proper to picture the Prussians from time to time… one of the shortest living “States” in Europe… but boy they did make it happen with a loud BANG!
Even today you can recognize some late Prussians in TV.
Enjoy Toy Soldiers!

As a wargamer I stop at 1900… even Omdurman has a nasty ring to it… but as it is and was… revenge has always been a mighty motive… but I can not abide the Boer War (Second) Concentration Camps (an Spanish original idea from Cuban insurrection times…)… call me silly but it is like that… I have the remains of a stupid sense of honour (it would be too long to argument so lets keep it at Toy Soldier level).
It is hard to me to accept Toy Soldiers “casualties” in wargames… so… imagine what I think about “civilian casualties” or colateral damage as cynics say…
Enjoy the pics!

Having a look at the chat in Facebook I have found this impressive sets of Britain’s.
I was born too late to collect those sets I guess… but nevertheless I have always liked them. Can you imagine when Toy Shops stocked those red boxes?… I do… with Nostalgia.
Enjoy!

Out of the blue an email with pics!… something out of the ordinary I can assure you! By the way if you want your collection or pics from it published here send them to me (as long quality is as shown below!).
It has been about three years since I started this Blog intermmitently, nowadays I try to post once a day (mainly I can do that)… but even if I have devised means to contact with other collectors… Facebook does the trick better because my son (Expert in computers… his career and way of life!) do not believe this humble Blog needs feedback because of spam… so… I keep publishing my email on it from time to time and sometimes SUCCES!… someone takes the pain of bothering about it and gets out of his or her way (I know it is mainly HIS) to contact me and drop a line or even pics!.
Yesterday was one of this days. So I give you the pics kindly sent by Mr. Al Fisher (Senior to me in experience and years!… who is still in the hobby…)
Truly glad of it! I asked him for permission to publish!… so there you have it… as always you can contact me at adb@andorra.ad (YES! a country with NO Army as Pete Seeger sung…)
Enjoy!

Since seeing “The Four Feathers” (1939 version if you please!) film as a child the idea of a British “square” formation has been ingrained in my brain (not that it appears in the film at all but vaguely the idea is there when the Fuzzy-Wuzzies attack at dawn the lone company of Captain Durrance -already blinded by the Sun- and Burrows and Willoughby of course!
The reading many years later of SMALL WARS revealed to me nothing “new” but it is a book I recommend because it is a compendium of “obvious things to do” (but easily forgotten)… it took me a long time to read and digest (meaning that since begun I read and finished a lot of other books) because it was interesting and meticulous. It has been a long time since I recommended a book!
So today I chosed some old pics from my personal Vault to illustrate the point. Maybe when I get the remaining 16 figures from DORSET (sorry IMPERIAL MINIATURES nowadays) I will indulge in a new series with Khaki clad warriors.
Maybe you already have seen them but anyway…
Enjoy!
